Description:

Between October 21 and 23, Forest Service fire managers ignited an 80-acre prescribed fire in the Northern Sierra Nevada mountains. Over this period, a discrepancy between Spot weather forecasts and observed weather was noticed in RH recovery. Discussion with meteorologists at the National Weather Service clarified a potential cause of this discrepancy, and revealed some best practices when requesting and using Spot weather forecasts.
